First and foremost, we’d like to thank everyone who has been following us on this journey for their support and, most importantly, their patience. This has been a long road for us — three and a half years — and an even longer one for Stan and his family.
I also appreciate all the comments asking for updates on the latest and greatest, for those who have shared their stories and even for those who are pissed off because we’re not further along! As I mentioned in a recent comment response, we have been working diligently in aligning all the pieces in order for the film to be received in the most positive way possible.
I’ve mentioned from time to time in posts and comment responses that we want to make sure this film extends to a larger audience vs. “preaching to the choir.” And I want to make it clear to all what I mean by that. “The choir,” as I see it, are people who are completely tuned into ufology and will watch every movie or show, read every book and visit every website in an effort to learn more. We know this audience is looking forward to this film. We also know this audience occasionally has challenges with friends and family when they share their passion for this subject simply because it’s still considered unconventional and fringe — especially in the U.S.
We also know there are millions of people in the world who are open to UFOs, abductions and alternative theories, yet they don’t go out of their way to find films or shows, read books or visit sites. These are the people we hope to reach because this audience can help raise awareness and consciousness by extending the conversation beyond “the choir.” And, like I said earlier, this is especially true in the U.S.
Believers and experiences alike shouldn’t be viewed as outcasts, whackos or non-conformists for one simple reason: What if UFOs, aliens and all the abduction stories are true? People who believe in the possibility of the unexplainable are no different than those who believed the world was round when the rest of the world believed it was flat. No different than those who believed the Earth revolved around the sun when the rest of the world believed the opposite.
Paradigm shifts require information presented in a way that increases the chance people will challenge their current belief systems. Which is why we’re not out to prove anything with this film. We want audiences to see Stan and Lisa as ordinary people — people just like them — who have been exposed to extraordinary circumstances — circumstances most people wouldn’t wish upon their worst enemies.
Having said all that, we’re planning on finishing the primary edit of the film this month and finalize the master soon after. We really are getting close. After that, we are continuing to explore film festivals and distribution options both domestically and internationally. When it comes to distribution, you only have one chance to do it right. If we were to release the film prematurely, our reach will extend only to the core believers. That is why we are being cautious and diligent in our planning.
One thing we could use, though, is support all over the world from those who do believe and would like nothing more than to have a larger segment of the global population see the UFO experience from a human POV vs. a phenomena one. We’d love to have people on every continent and every country talking about this film via social media and blogs. The best thing you can do now is share our site and Facebook page with people you know and let them know this unique film about a UFO experiencer is coming soon. Point them to the trailer. If we start creating awareness now, the film will be even more successful in reaching a larger audience.
